San Diego

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Celebrate Mexican Independence Day. This year our annual festivities commence at 11:00 am with the ringing of the bell at the historic Casa de Estudillo. This free event commemorates an important day in early San Diego history when Mexico declared independence from Spain on September 16, 1821, and Alta California became part of that new nation. Our exciting and colorful Fiestas Patrias festivities will be showcasing a variety of entertainment, including historic and traditional music and dance groups, crafts, games, and informational demonstrations that represent the activities enjoyed by the early settlers of San Diego in the 1800s.
