Indigo is a fun and simple way to begin learning about the wide world of Natural Dyes. Derived from a humble plant, this Natural Dye has been gracing textiles around the world for centuries. And fabrics dyed with Indigo are safe and extremely delicate on the skin. In this 2.5-hour workshop, you'll learn about the gentle to bold blues that Indigo is so well-known for. And we'll talk Indigo Dye, Natural Fibers, Shibori Basics and how to achieve different depths of Blue. Each student will: * Dye 4 cotton cloth napkins * Learn to shape their own, unique Shibori designs * Visit the Indigo Vat for multiple dips * (optional) Bring 1 small to medium-size fabric items from home (natural fibers only--cotton, linen, silk, wool, rayon, ramie, tencel, etc.
