The spring series opens with Melissa Aldana: Visions for Frida Kahlo, featuring Aldana on tenor saxophone, Sam Harris on piano, Pablo Menares on bass, and Tommy Crane on drums. Chilean-born Aldana returns to the Athenaeum series, having made her local debut at the library in 2014 just shortly after becoming the first female musician and the first South American musician to win the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition.
