With choreography by artistic director Javier Velasco, that evokes passion and sparks the soul! Performing are the amazing dancers of San Diego Ballet, including Charles' own daughter Camille McPherson. This program combines SDB's popular Ritmos Latinos and Jazz/Dance series to celebrate SDB's resident composers Charles McPherson and Gilbert Castellanos. This year's offering will feature McPherson's ebullient Song of Songs—illuminating the voices of lovers inviting each other to truly enjoy and experience life and love, a world premiere of a new work by McPherson consisting of a Suite celebrating Charlie Parker's 100th Birthday and Bird's influence on McPherson, as well as a world premiere by Castellanos.
