While Yiddish is widely recognized, Ladino, once central to Jewish life in Greece, Turkey, and the Balkans, is less known today. Spoken by only a few, it shaped Jewish culture from 1492 to WWII. Dr. Devin Naar’s lecture introduces the Ladino language, its folk culture, and key works of Ladino literature, both religious and secular.
