Shakira is a Latin pop singer-songwriter from Barranquilla, Colombia. After signing with Sony Music Colombia at age 13, the star made a name for herself in Latin America with Spanish-language albums like "Pies Descalzos" (1995) and "Dónde Están los Ladrones?" (1998). In 2001, Shakira made her crossover debut with her fifth album "Laundry Service," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spawned global hit singles “Whenever, Wherever” and “Underneath Your Clothes.”
