San Diego Public Library and Media Arts Center, San Diego invite you to view ?Traces of the Trade.?

First-time filmmaker Katrina Browne discovers her New England ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. She and nine fellow descendants retrace the Triangle Trade from their old hometown in Rhode Island to slave forts in Ghana to sugar plantation ruins in Cuba. Documentary offering new perspectives on black/white divide screens for Film Forum.

A facilitated discussion will take place right after the screening. This event is a collaboration with the award-winning documentary series P.O.V. (http://www.pbs.org/pov). Since 1988, P.O.V. has brought the best of independent point-of-view documentaries to a national audience, featuring the work of America?s most innovative documentary filmmakers to build new communities in conversation about today?s most pressing social issues.
