Presentation by Alfredo Villar on Peruvian Contemporary Pop Art and Its Relation to Migrant Movements, with an Emphasis on Chicha Art and joined in moderated conversation with the artist, MONKY. Followed by a DJ set of Peruvian Chicha. In his discussion, Alfredo will explore how chicha graphics emerged as the first great visual conquest of a mass that overflowed, invading cities and transforming their peripheries into new centers of creativity. He will address the movement's roots in internal migration, its popular aesthetic, and its significance as a form of cultural resistance and identity formation.
