We are pleased to invite you to the Yadigar Exhibition, organized by the House of Türkiye and Ataturk Kultur Merkezi. This exhibition aims to present the finest examples of Türkiye’s traditional arts and crafts and provide a unique opportunity to showcase Turkish culture on an international platform.
Coinciding with the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, this special event will feature the following cultural treasures:
● Traditional kaftans, kilims, and carpets
● Copper craftsmanship, tiles, and ceramics
● Silverwork, wood carving, and mother-of-pearl inlay
● Needle lace, cross-stitch, and various embroidery techniques
“Yadigâr” is a heartfelt celebration of Anatolia’s traditional handcrafts and textiles, a cultural treasure passed down from mothers, grandmothers, and generations long gone. Each piece—whether a finely woven tablecloth or an intricately embroidered bedspread—carries with it the spirit of our ancestors and the stories of their hands. These handcrafted works serve as more than just household items; they are a living legacy, one that we hold the duty to cherish, preserve, and pass on.
The exhibition traces the journey of these traditional crafts through the diverse landscapes of Anatolia. You’ll witness how, for centuries, young women have carefully prepared their dowries with love and excitement, each piece symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in life. The exhibition also captures the joy and significance of “henna nights” and other cherished ceremonies, where these beautiful creations play an essential role in marking life’s milestones.
