Federico Fellini?s Amarcord takes place in Rimini, a traditional seaside village, during Mussolini's fascist rule. Fellini drew from his own experiences to bring the colorful, small town characters to life in this story of a boy on the cusp of becoming a man.
This film is part of The San Diego Italian Film Festival's "Italian Classic" film series. Films in the series include: Il Generale della Rovere (1959), directed by Roberto Rossellini, Ermano Olmi?s Il Posto (The Job, 1961), Abbandonata (Seduced and Abandoned, 1964) and Federico Fellini?s Amarcord (1973). Each film in the series will have a special introduction by one of SDIFF?s film experts. The San Diego Italian Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing Italian culture through film with San Diego audiences. In Italian with English subtitles.
