Yucca Class at Barona Museum

Learn how Native Americans used the indigenous yucca plant for both food and tools at an upcoming class at the Barona Cultural Center & Museum on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students will learn how to clean the yucca and prepare the fiber to make nets. Experts will also roast the heart of the plant and participants will have an opportunity to taste the traditional food.

The Barona Cultural Center & Museum is dedicated to preserving the Native American culture and history of San Diego County. With more than 3,000 artifacts, listening alcoves, photographic displays, and archives, the museum?s historic treasures unfold many fascinating and inspiring stories of the Kumeyaay/Diegue?o experience.

Admission: $20 (includes lunch) 12 & up
