San Diego?s oldest ethnic festival is celebrating its 100th year. The tradition of celebrating the Festa stems from the Portuguese peoples? devotion to the Holy Spirit. In 1910 the first Festa was held and, now, the event has grown from a few families to 5,000 plus. On Sunday, May 23, Portuguese music, food, dance and traditional festivities will celebrate the tradition. A firework display, lively parade and Queen's Ball are just a few activities. Please note that certain events, such as the Queen's Ball, have a strictly enforced dress code.
