Concert: Folk Inspirations

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Travel to distant lands with a concert inspired by folk music from Europe and Asia, featuring Bela Bartok?s passionate postcard from Eastern Europe, Romanian Folk Dances in a new arrangement by Matthew Tommasini, Antonin Dvorak?s Quartet in G Major, infused with Czech tunes, and ceremonial music from Cambodia in Khse Buon by San Diego-based composer Chinary Ung. Inspired by a trip to Italy, composer-in-residence Matthew Tommasini returns with an entrancing new work flavored by a wild folk dance called the pizzica. This performance is part of the Connections Chamber Music series.
