This simple, elegant one pot meal prepared at the table is perfect for entertaining and family affairs. This is truly a do-ahead meal and great fun for everyone. You will learn about basic ingredients, how to slice and prepare vegetables, two types of dipping sauces, classical Japanese salad dressing, rice, table settings and table etiquette. Class is limited to 30 people.

Recipes: Gyuniku No Shabu Shabu (paper thin beef slices, tofu, Japanese vermicelli and assorted colorful vegetables; ex. chrysanthemum leaves, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, kabocha, etc. are simmered in broth on the table by each guest as they eat) Served with Slightly Sweet Sesame Seed Sauce and Spicy Daikon Ponzu Sauce; Namasu ? (classical daikon and carrot salad with rice vinegar dressing served in orange shells); Gohan To Oshinko (hot steamed rice and Japanese pickles); Matcha Yokan Petit Four (bite size green powder tea flavored sweet bean jelly with assorted fruit, chocolate and nut topping); Sencha (hot green tea). Instructor is Mineko Moreno author of "Sushi for Dummies."
