Have a mind-numbingly good time at "Kawa Served!", a photo exhibition featuring spectacular images of Polynesian tattoo and body art. The exhibit opens on Monday, May 31, at Vinaka Caf? in the Carlsbad Village (second level).
An opening reception is scheduled for 6 PM to 9 PM, with traditional kava (aka: kava-kava, kavajava or kawa) drink served free of charge and other refreshments available for purchase. The featured images are from Tricia Allen?s new book, The Polynesian Tattoo Today (Mutual Publishing, Hawai?i, April 2010), and other images from the Tattoo Traditions of Polynesia series. Tricia will be on hand to sign books as well.
