Women celebrate this festival by honoring the goddess (Bathukamma), seeking her blessings for prosperity and good wishes for the year. Colors, flowers, and water are intrinsic to this festival. This goddess is created each day of Navaratri festival, and they celebrate by dancing around and chanting folk songs. On the 9th day of festival, all the women take their pedda (big) Bathukamma and immerse in local water bodies.
