Historic Old Town San Diego celebrates its haunted present with ritual from the past honoring the D?a de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) tradition. officially observed on November 1st and 2nd, the Day of the Dead pays homage to the presence of the dead among the living and is a colorful tribute to California's own Mexican heritage.
More than thirty local businesses, museums, and community organizations will create the traditional Mexican altars and ofrendas (offerings to the dead). Restaurants will offer a variety of specialty menus and Day of the Dead signature drinks. Music, live performances, skull face painting, procession to El Campo Santo Cemetery and much much more is all free to visitors!
