Art historian James Grebl, Ph.D., will present a series of four lavishly illustrated lectures exploring a selection of the greatest libraries of the Western world, from medieval monastic libraries to modern national libraries, and from great university libraries to remarkable private collections. The featured libraries are renowned not merely for their fabulous collections of books and manuscripts, but also for their beautiful architecture and for the artworks and decoration that adorn them.
