Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Part of the World Music concert Series, this is a very special event bringing together two masters of Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian sacred music for a one-time performace. L?zaro Galarraga is arguably the most respected singer of Afro-Cuban sacred music on the planet. Joining him will be Jorge Alab?, a revered Brazilian master drummer with uncommon expertise ranging from carnival percussion to the drumming and songs of the Candombl? religion. Organized by Mark Lamson (who with Michael Spiro created the landmark Bata-Ketu recording exploring the musical commonalities between Cuban and Brazilian sacred music), this concert is a special meeting of masters who through music will explore the common roots of Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian sacred music.
