Now in its sixth year at Museum of Photographic Arts, the San Diego Italian Film Festival has grown into an amazing conduit to enjoy Italian culture. In its entirety, the San Diego Italian Film Festival runs from October 26 through November 11, and features 17 spectacular Italian movies that evoke laughter, tears, and passion.
Tonight, The San Diego Italian Film Festival presents Respiro (Breath) (2002), an Italian-language film written and directed by Emanuele Crialese. The film stars Valeria Golino, Vincenzo Amato, and Francesco Casisa. Writer/director Crialese won the Critics Week Grand Prize and the Young Critics Award at the Cannes Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Best European Union Film at the C?sar Awards and received other nominations and awards in various European award competitions.
