The Institute of the Americas, in partnership with the Council of the Americas, will hold a Border Conference on the U.S.- Mexico Competitiveness Agenda on February 13-14, 2013.
This event continues an initiative launched by the Council in Laredo, Texas, in August 2012 with the objective of fostering a public-private dialogue on improving management of the U.S.-Mexico border and deepening economic integration. This encounter will bring together key actors from the private, public and non-profit sectors in both Mexico and the United States.
The February 14th session will be open to the public and will include a series of panel discussions on the Mexican reform agenda and key cross-border business sectors. Ambassador John Negroponte, Chairman of the Council, and Ambassador Charles Shapiro, President of the Institute, will preside. Ambassador Anthony Wayne is expected to attend.
Admission/Cost: $30 members, students or faculty - $55 non-members
