Iranian-American post-chromodal jazz saxophonist Dr. Hafez Modirzadeh performs a rare intimate concert in San Diego with internationally acclaimed UCSD professor Mark Dresser on bass. Also featured is local santur master Behrouz Sadeghian in a duet setting with a special guest artist on tombak.
Hafez Modirzadeh is a composer, saxophonist, and professor of Music at San Francisco State University. For over two decades Dr. Modirzadeh has developed his pioneering ?chromodal? concept, a cross-cultural musical approach developed from his American jazz and Iranian dastgah heritages.
