Inspired by the work of Bill Traylor and in collaboration with Swing in San Diego, join us for three interactive dance workshops with recognized local dance instructor and organizer of Firehouse Swing, Meeshi Ravi.
Each class will explore two styles of dance, pairing movement with an in-depth look at the history, evolution and continuum of African American influence on 20th century American popular dance. No dance experience necessary, open to all ages.
March 7 ? Pre-swing: The Cake Walk and the Charleston
March 14 ? Swing: The Lindy Hop and the Big Apple
March 21 ? Post-swing: Chicago Steppin and Soul Line Dancing
