Cavalleria Rusticana tells the story of Turiddu, a soldier who has a knack for engaging in relations with all the wrong women. He has impregnated a village girl, Santuzza while he is having an affair with Lola, the wife of the village carter Alfio. In the end, Santuzza tells Alfio of the affair and he challenges Turiddu to a duel.
Fully staged with orchestra under direction of Kenneth Bell, professional singers and opera chorus. Produced by Pacific Lyric Association, artistic director Carlos Oliva.
