The Janusz Prusinowski Trio were one out of only 32 artists, from out of 1,200 submissions globally, to be chosen to perform at WOMEX International World Music Conference 2013 in Greece. This is their first ever U.S. tour which includes numerous well-known world music festivals and a tour closing show at on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. What they are doing from an ethnomusicological perspective is to preserve the traditional folk music of the villages of Poland. There are 5 members in the band which calls itself a Trio. This is not a Polish joke but the reason behind this is that the band was originally a trio and they wanted to keep the name because most of their music is in 3/4 time. Their 4 San Diego performances are being sponsored by the Center For World Music.
