Italian Folk Music

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
The music in this performance accompanied marriages, births, and harvests. Historically, it was known to cure young women, celebrate life and even mourn the pains of life. It emerges from the deep well of history in a part of Europe that was a crossroads for people around the Mediterranean, a meeting point for commerce, art and war. This place is now most commonly known as Puglia, Italy. The people and culture within a thousand miles left a cultural imprint in melody.
