The Strauss Symphony of America with Andras Deak, conductor (Budapest) will usher in the New Year with ?Salute to Vienna,? patterned after Vienna?s world famous Neujahrskonzert and returning for a 14th season with a new program. A festive New Year?s Day concert, featuring a new cast of over 75 musicians and European singers and dancers in costumes. A light-hearted blend of popular Strauss waltzes, polkas and famous operetta excerpts from Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, and more. The San Diego Symphony does not perform at this event, though you may see some familiar faces.
