Music: Kembang Sunda Gamelan

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Take an exquisite musical journey to the other side of the world with Kembang Sunda Gamelan. Expand your music horizons. Indonesian gamelan employs scales, harmonies, rhythms and time signatures that are very different than what is found in 12-tone Western music. The western part of the island of Java is where you find the Sundanese people. Javanese Gamelan is typically serene and ethereal, while Balinese gamelan tends to be more energetic. Sundanese gamelan can be both serene and energetic depending on the song. Kembang Sunda, led by Amy Hacker, has been featured at the Harmony & Motion Festival for the past 3 years. Most of their members are multi-instrumentalists who change instruments throughout their performances.
