The second Annual Mariachi Festival and Competition is the largest in San Diego and will take place at Pepper Park in National City.
Admission will offer the community a healthy environment to celebrate culture, diversity and an active lifestyle. In addition to the mariachi competition with mariachi students from throughout the United States and Mexico, attendants will also enjoy the performances of musicians like the Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano and the distinguished Mariachi Viva Tecalitlan from Guadalajara, Mexico.
This year the second Annual Mariachi Festival and Competition will offer workshops for students at the University of San Diego. Classes will take place Thursday, March 13th and Friday, March 14th and are open to all Jr. High and High School mariachi students who wish to improve their mariachi music skills.
