UCSD Open Air Short Film Festival

Part of the UCSD International Education Week, the film festival will showcase a variety of short films from around the world. Inspired through local film festivals, such as the San Diego Asian Film Festival, German Currents and the San Diego Italian Film Festival as well as individual producers and cultural organizations, the UC San Diego's first International Film Festival creates a unique blend of topics, stories, and filmmaking.

Please bring a blanket or chairs to seat on and dress warm. Free popcorn will be provided to all attendies.

Rumbo a Peor (Westward Ho)
Directed by Alex Brendem?hl from Spain
Two men, dressed in football-tricot wander through nature. As they go astray, they meet a woman on the road. Overwhelmed by her beauty, they persist in joining them.

Touch the Sky
Directed by Tim Hahne from Germany
Watch a very intimate portrait of Alex Zanardi, the former Formula 1 driver and winner of the American Champ Car Series. Alex was already a star, when he had his almost fatal accident at the Lausitzring in Germany. He lost his legs, but not his attitude. Alex Zanardi came back and did the impossible: He won races in the World Touring Car Championship, two gold medals at the Paralympics in London 2012 and just recently added two more hand bike world titles.

Making Noise in Silence
Directed by Mina T. Son
Making Noise in Silence explores the richness and complexities of Deaf culture from the perspective of two Korean high school students who attend the California School for the Deaf, Fremont.
