In this documentary, director Andrew Leavold sets off to spend seven years traveling to the Philippines on a quixotic quest to uncover the truth behind an enigmatic 2?9? Filipino action star known as Weng Weng. As his investigations continue to unfold, however, Leavold?s initial fanboy curiosity about Weng Weng blossoms into a look at over 30 years of Filipino pop culture, and how the culture reflects the country at large.
