The San Diego Black Film Festival returns with nearly 100 feature length and short films screening from Thursday January 29th to Sunday February 1st. Founded in 2002 the festival embraces African American, African and African diaspora experience around the world. The festival includes speaker's panels, Q&A's, galas, parties and mixers. The festival kicks off with the documentary By Blood which chronicals the experience of Native Americans of African descent known at the Freedmen and their stuggle for inclusion with Native American nations. The festival opening reception precedes the film. Sunday is devoted to foreign flims set in Angola, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Portugal, France and the UK.
