Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
San Diego Civic Dance Company invites you to an exciting performance in the beautiful and historic Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park. Collage 2015 features various dance styles such as tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern and musical theater including guest choreography by Maud Arnold of "So You Think You Can Dance" fame and local dance legend Donna Flournoy. Along with breathtaking costumes, imaginative set pieces and gorgeous theatrical lighting, our professionally trained dancers deliver a show that is certain to impress. "Creativity is thinking up new things. Innovation is doing new things." Theodore Levitt. Imaginative, surprising and a visual treat for the whole family!

Editor's Note: San Diego Civic Dance is one of the great cultural treasures in San Diego. Their yearly Collage program has dances that are often choreographed by nationally and internationally renowned choreographers. While they primarily focus on American styles of dance, throughout the years they have also featured Irish, Bollywood, Polynesia, Latino and other international styles. Civic Dance Arts provides dance instruction throughout the city. As such, the dancers in the program represent a wide cultural diversity. The Collage series features dances from the program's very best dancers. A great deal of effort, talent and creativity goes into their costuming and the sets, lighting and sound. For the high quality of performance, the ticket prices are a great bargain. If you have never seen a Collage show, do yourself (and family) a favor and go. You won't be disappointed! If you have school-aged children, find out more about their classes. At 45 dollars per semester their classes are a tremendous bargain (scholarships are available).
