Lunar New Year Tet Festival

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
This weekend will be extra special because Monday, Feb. 16, is Presidents? Day Holiday. For thousands of years the Lunar New Year has been observed in various countries around the world influenced by Chinese civilization and it remains Vietnam?s most celebrated holiday.

2015 marks the Year of the Goat, an animal that represents elegant, charming, artistic, gifted and creative characteristics. Goats encourage us to engage and entertain our own sense of curiosity by sampling a little bit of everything in order to know more deeply the world around us ? a perfect match for this year?s theme: Taste, See, Hear, Touch, Smell and Feel the Asian Experience.

Come and smell the sweet burning wood from the BBQ grill. Taste the unique mix of amazing Asian delicacies, exotic and luscious desserts and delicious beverages such as boba mixed drinks and smoothies. See delightful cultural performances that incorporate dancing, singing, comedy and magic, and don?t forget to root for your favorite contestant during the exciting return of the Miss Asia San Diego Beauty Pageant.

A pageant that displays the rich ethnic diversity of our society and gives us a glimpse into the many different cultures that surround us today. All contestants represent the Asian beauty, intelligence and wisdom that embody our on-going campaign: LSF Asian Women fight back against stereotypes.

Hear the mighty POW! of exploding firecrackers and the heart-racing beats of the Lion Dance performances every day. Touch amazing replicas of famous landmarks and unique and unusual structures in Asia.

Parking is free and so is entry for everyone who was born in the year of the goat?bring your ID.
