Winner of the Audience Award at the 2013 Locarno Film Festival, this French film by Louise Archambault, Gabrielle, is about a passionate, musically gifted young woman with Williams Syndrome who experiences the bliss of first love with fellow choir member Martin and must confront the fears of loved ones and social prejudice in her drive to assert her independence and sexual freedom.
