Hostler Institute on World Affairs Lecture Series: Dr. Elkins is professor of history and African and African American studies at Harvard University. Her research interests include colonial violence and post-conflict reconciliation in Africa, and violence and the decline of the British Empire. Dr. Elkins contributes to the New York Times Book Review, the Atlantic, and the New Republic and has also appeared on BBC's The World, PBS's Charlie Rose and NPR's All Things Considered.
