Talk: The Giant Stumbles in Brazil

With Dr. Christopher Gaffney, academic geographer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A common meme to describe the protests that erupted in Brazil in 2013 was ?The Giant has Awakened.? This ?awakening? of Brazil?s middle and lower classes promised to hold government officials accountable for corruption and poor management of public resources. Yet less than two years later, Brazil has re-elected the incumbent president.
