The Filipino-American Cultural Organization, in partnership with the Oceanside Public Library, Friends of the Oceanside Public Library and Tri-City Medical Center will be holding its 14th Annual Filipino Cultural Celebration. The Festival will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Oceanside Civic Center, Plaza and Library at 330 North Coast Highway in Oceanside, California. This year?s theme is ?The Philippines: The Jewel of Southeast Asia,? celebrating the country?s culture, costumes, cuisine and its citizens. Vendor booths will showcase authentic Philippine handicrafts, native art, Filipino cuisine, and vendors offering a variety of products and services. Visitors will also experience a Filipino cultural fashion show of colorful regional costumes, a cultural play presentation and Philippine folk dances. Special guest performers will include Global Pinoy Singing Idol 2014 winner Alessja Morales, and Star Quest champion, Leon Guico. Other event highlights will include the 2015 Mrs. Fil-Am, Mrs. Fil-Am Senior, Little Miss & Pre-teen Fil-Am pageants. Now in existence for over 30 years, FACO is a 501c(3) non-profit organization whose platform includes youth education, disaster relief, providing scholarships both in the U.S. and the Philippines to bright students who otherwise cannot afford a good education. Currently, the FACO has been working with Habitat for Humanity Philippines to build a Learning Center in Tacloban for victims of typhoons Hayian and Hagupit.
