Tijuana artist Jose Hugo Sanchez follows on the strong tradition of Mexican printmaker Jose Guadalupe Posada. Featured in the gallery will be six monumental scroll-like prints 15' tall by 6' wide.

The long banners are composed by block prints combined and rearranged in different configurations. An underlayment of spray paint lines contrasts with the starkness of the black inked shapes. There are references to pre-Columbian gods and fantastical creatures from Aztec codices. Meanwhile, a calavera Statue of Liberty reveals the current dead-end struggle for immigrants. The exhibit also includes large engraved cutouts emblazoned with "high and low," religious and pagan icons from both sides of the border such as the Virgin de Guadalupe, and Mickey Mouse.
