Galia Golan of Israel is a professor emerita, expert in international affairs and a grassroots activist with several decades of experience advancing women?s roles in peacebuilding. She founded several peace organizations including joint Israeli-Palestinian women?s groups, and acted to mobilize the unprecedented demonstration of 400,000 Israelis during the war with Lebanon. In 1995 Golan was on stage at the peace rally at which former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated.
