Talk: Torture and Confession in the Witch Hunt

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Like the persecution and sometimes extermination of lepers, Jews, and heretics, the witch hunt has developed in the West in a way that has not been observed in other civilizations. In Europe this problem did not characterize the Middle-Ages, but the next age: the Modern Times. Why? This involves in a precise way the relationship among truth, power, and identity. It will be the central question of this talk by Jacob Rogozinski, Philosophy, University of Strasbourg (France).
