Join us for the annual Sister Sally Furay lecture, on ?The Struggle to Report the Truth in Mexico? with Marcela Turati. One of Mexico?s leading investigative journalists and one of the most important chroniclers of the drug war, will discuss the persecution of journalists on the other side of the Mexican border. Turati will highlight the unique position and experiences of female journalists and activists in an environment of chronic violence, as part of International Women?s Day.
The presentation is part of TBI?s Freedom of Expression project, which aims to protect local journalists in Mexico by exposing their work and struggles to a broad English-language audience through our blog and book project.
