Daniel J. Orth (M.A., Fletcher School, Tufts), a program officer for strategic peacebuilding at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, will speak about the ?Current Political, Economic, and Recovery Situation in Nepal?.
Nepal continues its transition from a monarchy toward a representative constitutional government that accurately represents all of Nepal?s diverse groups, while simultaneously working to recover from last April?s devastating earthquake. His presentation will include the evolution of Nepal?s constitution as a case study in the formation of a new democracy, an update on the earthquake recovery status, and observations on the transformative work and optimism of local NGOs and the youth with whom they work.
