Exhibit touring from Mexico, curated by Marietta Bernstorff, with invited San Diego artists Claudia Cano and Omar Pimienta.

The artwork in this exhibition grew out of the effects of separation and trials of migration 43 artists participated with the community of Tanivet in Oaxaca, Mexico, to develop textiles, photographs, engravings, and other ephemera to represent the experience of migration. Omar Pimienta will present his Consulado Movil (Mobile Consulate) on the night of the reception. Cano uses ornamentation of thread, beads, sequins, acrylics, and screen-printing that present a mosaic of anonymous stories interwoven. Exhibit on view March 15 to April 13.
