The San Diego Italian Film Festival presents "Napolislam."
The number of converts to Islam are steadily rising and the message of the Quran has also come to Naples, a great sea port that has always been open and sensitive to the changes of history. This is a city where a mixture of culture and religion can produce unexpected change and metamorphosis. One fine day Naples wakes up and finds out that part of it has become Islamic. A filmmaker goes through the city and enters into the lives of ten people who have converted to Islam. The result is a documentary with a comic twist that shows Italy, Naples in particular, as leaning into its ancient roots of cross-roads of the Mediterranean but Italian at its core.
The film is shown in Italian with English subtitles.
Admission/Cost:
Thursday, March 17 - 7:30 PM
