During the Cold War, American lawyer (Tom Hanks) is recruited to defend an arrested Soviet spy in court and then help the CIA exchange the spy for the captured American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers. A true story of one man?s courage to remain honest and impartial despite the trouble times and international pressures.
