The Annual Asian Heritage Awards

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
This year's Fourteenth Annual Asian Heritage Awards, hosted by honorary chairman San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts, is dedicated to this great American success story of thousands who fled with little or nothing but went on to become doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, Hollywood producers and directors, entrepreneurs, poets, writers, educators, scientists, government officials and American military leaders. Since the fall of Saigon in 1975 much has been written about the Vietnam War, almost all of it through the American lens yet little from the viewpoints of those Vietnamese who lived through the desperation, lost everything but survived to lead meaningful lives beyond their own wildest dreams.

This success story and the contributions of other Southeast Asian emigres from Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, also affected by the war, will be celebrated during a unique gala dinner and awards ceremony the evening of Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego in Linda Vista.

Proceeds will help found the publication of the book : Vietnamese in Americans
