University of California San Diego?s Department of Music announces Chinary 75, a two-night concert series that celebrates the life and work of composer Chinary Ung.

Over two dozen guest artists are slated to perform Ung?s works alongside UC San Diego Faculty and Graduate Students in Chinary 75, creating a diverse artistic collaboration that is not to be missed.

Concert I on Nov. 14 presents a theatrically-oriented program in the Experimental Theater featuring Still Life After Death, Cinnabar Heart, and the highly anticipated Letters from Home (featuring Ung?s daughter, Kalean Ung).

The second concert is a part of the Department of Music?s Wednesday at 7:00 PM series on Nov. 15. It features Singing Inside Aura, for singing violist and chamber ensemble, with Susan Ung and Steven Schick, conducting, Spiral XIV: "Nimitta" and a world premiere of a new version of Spiral XII: "Space Between Heaven and Earth" for 13 vocalists and chamber ensemble, with the founder of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Gil Rose, conducting.

Additionally, a free Symposium (at 4:00 PM. Nov. 14) features guest panelists Adam Greene, Koji Nakano, and Yayoi Uno Everett. Plus post-concert discussions will provide audiences with an in-depth look behind the brilliance of Ung?s musicality and core compositional development.
