Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker" celebrates its 25th anniversary of touring North America.
This traditional show is known for for its award-winning principal dancers; lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era; backdrops created by ?La La Land" set concept designer Carl Sprague; and its Russian focus including life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, Russian folk legends Ded Moroz (Father Christmas), Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), and Troika Sleigh.
The show includes touches of special effects like a flapping winged owl on the Grandfather Clock, a Christmas tree that grows to the height of 50 feet, and a Dove of Peace with a 20-foot wingspan.
