Jesus lived, taught and died as a Jew. He was embedded in the Jewish world of practice and piety. This lecture will present different models of Jesus' Jewishness as presented in the New Testament narrative. We will looks at texts that demonstrate a Jesus who embodies qualities of 1st century Judaism and a Jesus who fashions elements of charismatic Judaism.
